How long does it take to become a cheerleader?
    Hey guys!
I'm new here and I have some questions about cheerleading :)
I am 16 years old and I want to be a cheerleader at my high school (I am going to be a junior this year). I have wanted to be a cheerleader for a few years now but could never do it for economic reasons, but since I turned 16 this year I started working and I am making some money and paying a private cheerleading instructor $60 an hour so I can get prepared and try out in August (I am taking privates 3 times a week for an hour, so it's $180/week). The problem is that I do not have much experience and I am not sure if I can learn to do a standing bh and back tuck, a roundoff bh and back tuck, plus all the jumps like toe touches and pike jumps in time for tryouts. My question is: how long will it take me to learn all that? Or am I wasting my money?
I really need your opinion because I am not in a position where I can spend so much money for something that I am not sure will happen, but I really really really want to do this and I need to know if I have enough time to do it.

Anyway, thank you for taking time to read this. Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated:)

    THANKS!!
    Cindy.

Don't they teach you all of this in cheerleading?

On a side note, practice makes perfect! So just keep practicing, and this will show at the try-outs. When are the tryouts?

Spend the money and work hard.

If it doesn't work out you will know you did all you could do.

Sometimes you work like hell just to "fail." fine. Sometimes you work like hell and you win.

There are absolutely NO guarantees in life other than eventually death. In the meantime, pick your battles.

If you want this, work for it, practice, do all you can. If it doesn't work out... it doesn't mean you weren't good enough... Lord knows the politics of HS aren't about fair play much of the time.

Do what you can. Try your best. If it doesn't work out... I PROMISE you... and I Don't promise things I don't believe... I promise that in time, it will fade away.

Take a shot. Take a chance. If it doesn't work out, you know you did all you can do. And that's a great way to live your life.
