My apartment lease is up at the end of October. It will be very expensive because I have no Dental insurance. They Want $1,900.00 before they will begin to take care of a serious dental emergency and I don't have that kind of money. I am 66 years old and retired. I get Medicare medical and hospital insurance and have a prescription plan. I also have a small Retirement check.

My daughter will let me stay with her and her family so that I can save the money to take care of this. It will still take 4 months to save that amount of money. Is there any way that I can break this lease so that I may begin to take of the emergency?

Have you talked to your land lord before posting here? A lot of times, the nice ones will let you out of the lease if they know they are going to have to wate money on court costs to get you to fork up the money for a broken lease. Especially if you leave the place in good clean condition, they can rent it out quicker. If they can't rent it out quicker, they might make you pay another month of rent. I think your first step here is to talk to the landlord and explain your situation.

You cannot break it as such - you can negotiate with the landlord to leave, perhaps give notice, perhaps they'll permit you to break the lease.

Whatever they agree to - if they agree - get it in writing.

Yes, this is not normally allowed reasons to break a lease. As noted, some landlords will allow you to get out of it, with proper notice because of the problem.

Also you may want to look into the Medicare Advantage programs they often do cover some dental
