I live in a older single wide mobile home. We have no cold water coming out of any of the faucets or for the washing machine. Any suggestions before I call a plumber?

Also the toilet is not filling back up with water. We are having to manually put water in the back of the toilet so we can flush it. Any suggestions?

You must have a break in the water supply line. Is there a soggy spot out in the yard anywhere?

Are you on city water or well? How is your hot water pressure, you didn't mention a problem with hot.

Yes could your well pump have been struck by lightning or tripped the breaker?

Well water. The hot water pressure is very powerful.

To be honest with you I have not checked the breaker. I will do that. The hot water pressure is fine. Actually the hot water about blows you out of the shower it is so powerful

Don't bother checking the breaker if you have good hot pressure. Somewhere after your water heater you have a blockage and that's rare. Check to see if you have a house filter on the cold line or a water softener that does not soften the hot water. Something is blocked your cold only.

Won't the hot continue to run until the water tank is empty? The excess pressure could be steam building up in there?

The way it works is cold is supplied to the water heater and is heated. The incoming cold is the pressure to push the hot out so we know cold is good up to the heater. The heater is working fine so all we have is a blocked cold line after the heater. My gut tells me someone close a valve and did not know what it did or there is a clogged water filter.

Where would I try and turn this valve back on if that is the case? How would I know if there is a clogged water filter?

Its your home so hopefully you'd know if there was a filter. They are about the size of a bowling ball and are freequently white or powder blue. They would interrupt the cold water line which may be under the home if you live in an area where freezing is not an issue. If you fel along the cold pipe and then find a valve inline try turning it clounterclockwise. Has anyone worked on your home or do you have very curious kids?

I live with my boyfriend so I was not sure if there was a filter. He said there is not. We have no kids. I live in FL so no freezing for sure.

Could be an animal messing around under your trailer. Or someone playing a prank?

Find the water heater and check the incoming cold water line. Does it just enter the water and stop or is there a Tee in the pipe and the cold continues on from there. If cold reaches you heater you have good incoming cold water pressure from the street or well.

And you have paid the water bill, right?

Wild, OLO of course she paid the water bill but apparently only paid for hot water.

This is a really strange problem. Could something have broken off the inside of the water tank and clogged the line somehow? Don't know what. I sense a big plumbing repair bill.

I sense a flukey thing happened like someone close a valve somewhere. The home has cold comimg in, it reaches the hot water heater and hot water reaches all fixture but no cold water to any fixture. Closed valve or clogged filter, still strange because most filter are before the water heater.
