    Serology blood test
Can anyone tell me what a serology blood test, tests for? I am pregnant and it was one of the tests that I needed to have done on my booking in appointment.

Most likely it is a battery of tests to determine your blood type, Rh factor, immunities such as rubella and varicella, as well as hepatitis, syphillis, and HIV.

It's a standard test used so that the OB knows how to treat the mother as well as the baby.

No problem. These are routine blood tests that are done at the doctor's office. At my hospital we re-run the blood work when our gals come in in labor.
