I lost the paper with my wire hook up. Switch has L-1-2-3. I have black,yellow,blue And purple wire. Any answers? When all wires are wired together the fan moves at a very slow speed. Does this mean the motor is still good?

Connecting all five wires together is a bad idea and could damage something.

Are you sure you have the correct replacement switch? If so I would start with black and L and try all other combinations until it works properly.
