    Old tub spout is stuck
I have read all the information available on removing an old tub spout and I still cannot get mine off. It definitely is not the type with a set screw. There is no hole in it at all. I tried to twist it off, and it just twists and twists without coming away from the wall. I tried pulling while I twist, and inserting a screwdriver against the wall while I twist. I know this is supposed to be really easy, but something must be wrong in there! What can I do?

Do you have copper plumbing of galvanized ? What brand of faucet do you have ? Can you post a photo of the spout ?

I have no idea what brand the spout is, there is no name on any of the fixtures in the shower or bath. I have no idea what kind of pipe is behind there because I cannot see it without getting the spout off.

If the spout spins endlessly than:
    1. It is installed on copper pipe stub-out. That sits on "O" ring and it is squeezed against the pipe through small cut-out on the bottom and back of the spout and with small set screw
    2. It is installed on gal. nipple. That nipple has union inside the wall. The unions spins in the seat.
Do you have a service access door behind your tub ?

There is definitely no set screw. There is also no access door.

    Well, that's a bad news !

Now, you will have to go to plan "B": Take a hacksaw and saw off the spout in the middle.

I guess I was expecting that but I was hoping for an easy out. Thank you so much for your advice!
