Electric or gas tankless water heater?
I am in the process of building a new home. I have 3 children and want to go as energy and cost efficient as possible. So, here's my question:

Should I go with an electric or tankless water heater? Or should I go with a high energy efficient regular electric water heater?

Everything in the house will be electric except for the heater. The meter itself will cost $10a month regardless of use. With gas prices soaring with no end in site, we've had a lot of advice to go with electric. To go with the electric tankless we would have to put a 400 amp box instead of the standard.

    Any advice?

Usually it is cheaper to heat with gas; it depend how much they CHARGE you for electric/gas. 1 therm of gas get you 80,000 BTU,for a heater with 80%efficiency. 1 kw get you 3415 BTU for electric heater(assumed 100% efficiency)... you have to do a comparison...
