    Honda CRV 2004 Locate brake light switch?
    Where is Brake light switch on 2004 Honda CRV?
    Is it hard to replace?
    Shifter Locked.

    It's located just above the brake pedal. They rarely go bad. Frequently, all they need is a spray of WD-40.

    I just found out something about the brake switch on my 2004 Honda CRV. If the switch is bad, you cannot shift the shifter out of park.

    I had no brake lights, so I checked the switch, took itout and was going to replace it. I noticed that the switch had 2 pairs of contacts and 4 wires. So I went to pull the car back in the garage, and I could not shift the shifter out of park. Plugged the brake switch back in, and then could shift the shifter. If you can shift the shifter, than the brake switch is good since this same switch operates the bake/shifter interlock.
