I have an old TV with an RF connector only. No Video, audio input/output connectors (yellow, red, white cables). I also have cable via set-top box. Can you recommend a DVD/VCR recorder combo that will work with only an RF connector?

I tried the LG RC897T DVD/VCR recorder combo because it has an RF connector for my TV. However, this unit also requires video, audio input/output connectors to view RF and tapes.

You might be approching the problem backwards. I think what you need is an RF modulator RF modulator - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. This will convert video signals to cha 3 or 4 so that your TV will display them. Inexpensive for mono audio.

It all depends on what you want the system to do :

If that is only displaying video signals with sound over the television, the solution KeepItSimpleStupid provided will work. A RF modulator is already available for under $ 50,00. Certain types come complete with a short transmission antenna, so a television with a small antenna can receive where ever it is in and around the house.

If you want to display on - and record from - the television, you have a serious problem.
In the radio hobby shops there are "build it yourself" kits for transferring signals from and to a television, that have to be build in into the television set. As in-outputs you get standard audio video connectors so you can use it with most other equipment.
Available for around $ 80,00 . Note that the sound depends on the television - which often is mono only. The important point is : do you have enough information (service manual) and knowledge to install such a board in a television?

If not, just get another television complete with all "buttons, buzzers, and bells" allowing interfacing with other equipment.
