    Child Support
The mother of my child wants me to sign all my rights over the our son that I just found out about. He is two years old. If I sign my rights over will I still have to pay child support?

If you had looked at the umpteen threads with the same question in this forum you would have gotten your answer.

Laws vary from state to state. In some states a TPR does not change your obligation to pay support. In others it does.

The bottomline here is its unlikely you will be ALLOWED to sign over your rights. A TPR is generally granted only to clear the way for an adoption or if the parent represents a danger to the child. In states where child support ends with a TPR its even harder to get the court to grant one.

Yes, unless she has a new partner that is going to adopt, yes you will have to pay child support if she files for it, and if she receives public assistance the state may come after you for repayment
