    Cat behavior
My usually pretty independent cat is suddenly very clingy to me. She follows me around, sleeps with me now and NEVER did before. She keeps jumping on my desk here even as if to "check on me". She's never been this clingy to me. I've heard of cats sensing things so this is scaring me.. any ideas? Thanks much!

Our Kitty has been that way for five years. When she feels insecure (Thunderstorm, hairball, whatever,) she needs attention for reassurance. With felines, one must give affection in order to receive affection. Affection includes minding the cats' food and fresh water... it's vital to them and shows affection from you.

I don't want to alarm you and I'm sure its not the case but a few years back my grandparents had a cat it was a stray that was living in there shed and so they decided to keep it. It never wanted to go in the house or be petted, it normally wanted to do its own thing. One morning my grandfather got in his truck and the cat jumped up in the truck and right in his arms. Unfortunately the cat died the very next morning.
