We have a pontoon boat and we had it out a few days ago with no problemd but the next day it hesitated to start and then died. We thought it was the battery but the next day the motor went up with no problems so we decided to go for a ride when we put the key in the same thing happened nothing like the batterry was deae but the battery is only a year old could there be a short someone please help.

I've never had that problem with a boat, but with a car it was my alternator. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to give you some different ideas. They may even be able to tell you how to test it and fix the problem... check back in.

. Remove battery, check cell fluid levels, and charge--only then will you know what shape it's really in.

. Clean battery and cable connections.
