    DUI Probation Violation
I am on probation for DUI in Virginia. I recently received a drunk in public. What can I expect?

You can expect to have your probation violated and attend a probation violation hearing in the near future and have a judge decide your punishment.

Well assuming you went right away to the Probatoin officer and reported it, hopefully nothing. But it will be up to your PO as to what they want to do, Are you currently ordered to do AA and to not drink ?

    Hello ed:

It ain't as simple as all that. In addition to the variables the Padre mentioned, there are dozens more. If, for example, you've just started your probation and got drunk, that's a lot worse than having been on probation for a while, doing a GOOD job staying sober, and just fell off the wagon one time.

There are lots more too that we don't know about. At worst, you can be made to serve your entire sentence in the slam. At best, they can give you another chance.
