Changing Thermostat has opened a can of worms
Hello,
We live in Santa Monica, CA and rarely use our AC or heat. We have a split system with the heat pump condensing unit on the roof of our condo complex and the air handler is in the closet in our condo. I replaced our old manual Thermostat with a new Honeywell Digital/Programmable thermostat. When I turn the Air Conditioning on now, warm air comes out of the vents in our home. I went on the roof to check the Heat Pump Condenser Unit and cold air is shooting out the top of the unit, and with not much force. Normally I think that warm air shoud be coming out of here right? I think that maybe the fan is spinning the wrong way, but I don't know enough about these things to diagnose.
I have read so many things on the internet that I am not sure what is right. I read one answer that stated that I might be out of refrigerant, but how would I create cold air in the unit without refrigerant. Anyway, any ideas or know how would really help!
Matt
