    Coverting to pull switch light
I've been trying to convert a standard lighting fixture to a pull switch light because I have no wall switch. The pull switch converter has two black wires, one of those I connected to the black wire from the light fixture, the other to the black wire from the power source and then I connected the white wire from the fixture to the white from the power source. The pull switch does not work, in fact the light doesn't come on at all. Any ideas?

What type of light fixture is this, a lamp, a ceiling fixture, a bulb holder? If you connected as you said it should work. Check bulb.

It's a ceiling fixture and I'm sure it works because I connected it w/o the pull cord assembly first. I checked the bulb in another lamp also. I'm stumped. Bad pull cord assembly possibly?

May it's just a bad switch. Do you have a meter or test light to check it with?

With power off, reconnect the 2 blacks(power and light)to verify fixture and bulb OK, then replace switch, if you have no meter.
