If you purchase a used car on 6/7/08 from a dealership and it has been in for mechanical problems 8 days can you cancel the purchase?

It may be a lemon, you may actually be able to sue. I would seek legal guidance ASAP

Consult your sales agreement to see if there are any such clauses contained in it relative to your problem. Is it the same problem over and over again or different problems each time. Are they major problems or minor problems? You may have to go to court to get your money refunded if it was major problems that cost more than the car. Was this a newer car or an older car also? Did the dealer give you any sort of warranty or was there a big "sold as is" sign in the window on it?

I don't believe you can cancel the purchase but you may very well be able to return the car and get your money back if you can qualify under your State's lemon law.

What State?

First how was it bought, was there a warranty, or was it bought "as is"
I believe a few states have lemon laws on used cars but most do not.

Have they been fixing what was wrong under a warranty ?
