Denial of renting an apartment due to something on credit report
What are the reasons on a credit report that would deny someone from renting an apartment even with a cosigner and double/triple the rent as downpayment? Thanks!

    Unpaid bill to another apartment
    Judgement
    Foreclosure
    Bakruptcy

Co-signer does not have great credit either

** double and triple rent for deposit would not be legal in some states.

But it can be just a rule, there is no law on it, the rental company just has a rule, they can tell you if you ask.

I won't rent to a prospective tenant who has a poor credit rating - figured if he/she didn't pay "those people," he/she won't pay me.

Even if a landlord takes double rent up front - tenant defaults, takes at least 30 days to evict. Landlord still barely breaks even.
