'98 Honda Accord Coupe Starting issues.
My '98 Accord Coupe with 135,000 has trouble starting occasionally. The battery seems strong enough, but it is coming to the end of the labeled useful life - 60 months. At the times that it won't start is seems like it isn't getting fuel. Usually after a while it will start. Sometimes when I drive the engine seems to cut out momentarily and the stereo goes off for a split second and then comes back on. For the first time the other day the "SRS" light flashed on twice.

I'm thinking it might be the main relay, distributor or coil but would like to educate myself a little before taking it to get checked out. And I plan to replace the battery in the near future too.

Also, my window regulator is going out in the driver-side window. Is that something I might be able to change myself?

    Thanks!

I would replace the battery now; otherwise, you risk getting stranded. I recommend replacing the main relay, ICM, and coil every 120,000 miles or 10 years, whichever comes first.

Okay, thank you! Hopefully I can do these repairs myself.

    Thanks again!

Here's how to replace the ICM and coil yourself:

The main relay is located to the left of the steering column.

Great! I'm assuming that is inside the car. Is it the silver/gray metal box with a barcode label on it? That would down by my left foot?

You're making it sound so simple.

    Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Yes, replacing these three items is not difficult. Just disconnect the negative. Battery terminal first.

Turn the ignition key on and off, to help you locate the main relay. You'll hear it click.

It appears you are quite knowledgeable in hondas, perhaps you can help. I am troubleshooting a no start situation with a 95' v6 accord automatic. This problem is intermittent which makes it more difficult to pinpoint.
While turning the iginition switch from on to start I am only getting a click noise from the starter solenoid, and at times no noise at all. I checked for voltage to the starter with a simple test light, once the iginition is placed to the start position and voltage is intermittent. The battery has a full charge. Also once all components function correctly the engine runs like a charm. This symptom tends to only take place once the car has been driven at normal temperature. In the morning, the car starts and runs with no problems, until it is parked and a restart it attempted.
