I lifted my chicken's water bowl,and out runs a black widow.My rooster gobbled him up.Is he going to die or what?:eek:

Most probably not. First of all was it really a black widow spider?
Secondly : upon eating the spider got crushed in the beck of the rooster.
Thirdly : 5 seconds later the spider got doused in stomach acid.
You´ll know for sure tomorrow morning, when you hear him crowing !

Yes.it was a black widow-we have massive amounts living in our barn.I see them all the time,and I've always wondered what if.I guess we'll have our answer soon enough.I live in Florida where every bug imaginable can and does exist.

I'm betting the rooster knows what he can eat or can't eat. If they are that prevalent its probably not his first.
