Started period then stopped haven't had one in 2 months.
It's common for me to always miss a period, I have always been irregular and sometimes get it every other month or every couple of months. I'm not on birth control and am sexually active so my first thought is always pregnancy, but I take tests for precaution constantly. I haven't had a period in over 2 months but started to get it a few weeks ago. I had the usual aches and pains and the brown discharge like it was coming on but the next day it was gone, the bleeding never started. It's a couple of weeks later and two pregnancy tests later and I'm still very nervous and uneasy... Has this ever happened to anyone before or does anyone know any information that would be helpful??

Have you ever been tested for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome? What you saw sounds like a big chunk of your endometrial lining sloughed off. This sounds normal if you have PCOS. Because or irregular periods, this could have happened, as the lining will build up. Another possibility would be that your cervical plug was infected when it discharged. The plug is a buildup of mucous that happens naturally to keep semen out of the cervix, until it is ready for it. Either case, go see an GYN about this. To avoid pregnancy, I'd suggest that you practice a accepted form of birth control. A contraceptive sponge, condoms, or the pill, are good methods. And most communities have health centers that will distribute at least free condoms, and information on avoiding pregnancy. That I would be definitely pursue. Best of luck!
