    Heat in basement
We put new rug and drop ceiling in our basement this winter. Usually during the summer our basement is the coolest place to be. We are now finding it is stifling hot down there all the time. What could be causing this? We pull in cool air from the outside with fans through our bulkhead but the minute we close it up it gets like a oven down there. Any ideas what this is from? Could it be the water heater or oil burner ready to go? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Who knows where the heat is coming from ? We are not there to check it out. If you have central air run a duct off the trunk line and add a register to help cool it down.

It might be the newly dropped ceiling. Can you remove a panel or two to let heat escape upwards?
