I recently lost my wallet in a convenience store when I was visiting a friend. When I got back home the store owner called to say he'd found my wallet. My friend dropped by to pick it up and offered him a reward, which he vehemently would not accept. I would like to write to the local newspaper to let them know what upstanding members of the community they are, etc.

Write a letter to the editor and just announce that there are still good people in the world. Explain what happened and how you want to thank Mr. Whoever at Whatever shop. If this company is a chain, call their area manager and give him an "atta boy" with them, too.
