    First you really need to take a good look at his attitude.
    Is it just a problem with your friends?
    Are you sure you can be happy with somebody that gets nasty with others?
    Are you sure he won't ever get a nasty attitude toward you or does he and you put up with it?
    If his temperament is nasty it may get to the point that he is nasty to the pizza guy, the cashier, his boss, your parents, your kids if you ever have any.

    Step back and really take a good look at what is going on here.
    Forget trying to get them to be friends cause you can't make them like each other or even get along at any level if they do not want to.

    I think:

    (1) it may be too much to expect of yourself to get your friends and your boyfriend to like each other, especially since you already tried that and it did not work out;

    (2) is it possible that you can spend time with your boyfriend and spend time with your friends without having to make a choice between the two?

    (3) is it time to think about what you really need to look for in a boyfriend and in friends and to give some thought to whether you find that in these friends and this boyfriend?

    (4) it seems that you would be giving either your boyfriend or your friends too much power over you if you allow either to cause you to have to choose between the two;

    (5) do you need altogether new friends and a new boyfriend or perhaps to back away from a relationship with a boyfriend for a while?

    (6) do you have some mature and reliable people in your life closer home to talk with about this?

    Thanks for the chance to think through some of this with you.

    Whatever you do, please try to...
