Can the employer wait to issue a check for a late time sheet until the next regular p
A small corporation doing carpentry has employees who work for it. The employees are out in the field, there is not office for employees. Time sheets for the prior week are due Monday morning following the week. They can be given to a field supervisor when one is there, or faxed or emailed to the accounting office. Employees regularly turn in sheets late, or fail to turn them in without tremendous follow up from the manager. Employees have been told repeatedly that failure to turn the timsheet in timely wills result in them missing the payroll deadline, and then they will receive no paycheck that pay period, and must wait until the next. As yet, the corporation has not done this, but the situation with late turns ins gets worse. Can the Employer not issue a PAY check for an hourly employee that has failed to submit his time sheet w ithint the designated time/deadline? Can the employer wait to issue a check for a late time sheet until the next regular pay period (every 2 weeks)?
