Our current cedar siding is peeling, its dry and looks horrible . We have gotten different opinions on whether to remove the existing siding, before the vinyl siding is installed. What are the pros and cons?

Will cost money for labor to remove it plus you have to pay to have it hauled away. Actually installing new siding over the old will make your walls thicker giving them better insulating and soundproofing values.
