Honoring a Rental Lease After a Parent Has Passed Away
    HI

I'm the first born sibling of four. My father recently passed away, leaving me the house. Prior to his passing. I moved into the house paid rent to my father and his wife. Being that the house was willed to me, do I still have to honor the rental lease?

If you own the house, keilah, they should be paying you rent. Go to a lawyer and have him send them a letter advising them of the situation, as soon as possible, to set things right.

    Hi, keilah!

Greetings and WELCOME to the site! I just edited a little and moved your question that you had posted in Introductions to this topic area so that it would get the most exposure to those who are best able to answer it. Introductions is for people to introduce themselves and we try to not ask questions there.

We would appreciate it if you would return to Introductions sometime to tell us a little about yourself though, if you would be willing to do that.

I do note that you already have a fine answer to your question after my editing and moving it.

Hopefully, more people responding with answers for you will also come along.

    Thanks!

Do I have this right? You rented the house from your father and his wife. Your father died and left the house outright to you.

    The rental lease is void.

It's your house if I understand you correctly.
