    Chapter 13 removal from Equifax
    Hi Friends:
I have worked very hard to repair my credit. A chapter 13 filed in 2001 was recently removed after 7 years from Experience and TransUnion. Equifax refuses to remove and says it should be on my report for 10 years. It was dismissed. I believe the laws in 2001 only allowed 13's to be reported for 7 years. Any inside knowledge about what I can do to get Equifax in line.
    Thanks.

Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcies remain on your credit report for 10 years after the filing date. Chapter 13 bankruptcy records are sometimes removed after 7 years from the filing date based on the credit reporting agency policy. When you file for bankruptcy, all the accounts included should be marked as "Included in BK" and will each stay on your report for 7 years.

You can dispute all the accounts included and keep sending a dispute about the bankrrupt every month to equifax using different reasons like "Filing date incorrect" "Not mine" "Name wrong" whatever forcing them to contact the court every month until they delete it.

Thank you. I will try this. It feels like someone has a vested interest in keeping my score low!

I know, just think that the lower the score the more money banks, credit bureaus, insurance companies and even collectors make. They have no reason to help you.
