When I connect my laptop to the modem, all other connected pcs stop working?
Hello everybody, my problem seems to be very critical.

Whenever i connect my labtop to the modem i cannot surf the internet, also when i try to repair the connection it says i cannot renew my IP. MOREOVER IF I LOOK to my ethernet modem i found the green light of my Ip port flashes continuously as if i wsa downloading something:(

By the way, I'm not using static IP OR DNS. Also when I connect my labtop, all other pcs on my lan became unable to use the internet??

When you say you hook up your laptop to the "modem", is it really the cable/dsl modem or to a router? Wired/wireless?

Have you tried turning off and on the DSL modem? How many ports do you have? Reboot your machine at the same time you turn off/on the modem.

A quick run down of your network set up would be useful.
Exactly HOW are you sharing your internet connection between your various machines.
Do they use static or dynamic IP's, etc.

As previously mentioned we need to know EXACTLY how you have things set up.
The more information you give the better we can help.

Now we already know you use a modem.
Does it have multiple LAN ports or do you use a router/houb for sharing the modem?

First of all, thank you for your asking

    Secondly,

SORRY I didn't understand what u mean by ""multiple LAN ports or do you use a router/houb for sharing the modem ""

All I can say it's modem with four ports like this one but without wireless function

OK now we are getting some where.
That is a router and a good thing to use for internet connection sharing.
Now I assume that each computer is plugged into a separate port.
Do each machine use dynamic or static IP's as what you are describing sounds like an IP conflict within your LAN.
Something as straightforward as one machine set to static and then the router attempting to allocate this static address would cause this.

Ensure ALL your machines are set to DHCP enabled, dynamic addressing.
    This should resolve your issue.
