    Resurfacing broken concrete
I have a large old concrete slab that has several large cracks and uneven sections behind my 1850's farmhouse. Can I make a new frame and pour new concrete over the old, filling in the cracks and making it even or does the old stuff have to be totally removed?

What's going on top of the slab? Cars? Heavy equipment? Storage shed?

It will be used as a patio, so the only thing going over it will be people walking and sitting.

If that's the case then a pour of another 4 inches shouldn't be a problem. Use fiber a fiber filled aggregate rated at least of 2000 psi.
