Welcome to AMHD. Just curious as I need a bit more information: What outcome are you hoping to achieve? And, in what state do you reside? Finally, do you know his address or last known address? Thanks.

    Hello Sara:

What do you expect to get? He's not using the rights he has, so taking them away does NOTHING. As a matter of fact, it costs you money. He should help pay for the support of the baby, doncha think?

Plus, there is no such thing as child abandonment. If he left his child by the side of the road, THAT'S abandonment - not leaving the family.

No, what you want to do, for the sake of your child, is to go to family court, and have yourself declared the custodial parent and where you're awarded child support. Then the state will look for him to collect.
