Some Community Colleges will have weekend workshops. Call your local College and ask if they offer anything like that. Also, there are a ton of books on massage techniques, and pressure points. Also reflexology books for the feet. You can also Goggle a lot of this.
I'm not sure what you are considering a "rub", but there are so many different types of massages, in which different methods are applied.
If all you are wanting to do is relax your boyfriend to relieve tension, get some good massage oil, ask him to sit or lay down in a comfortable position, and ask him questions while you are massaging him. Example: Where do you feel tense? Is the pressure I'm applying too soft or too hard? Start with his feet first and go from there.
You might even want to start with a face massage, with slight pressure around the temples, brow bones, and cheekbones, and then a light circular upwards motion all under the chin, and then his face. Some guys might think that is weird at first, but trust me, they love it!
Go to your public library or a used bookstore and get a couple of good books on massage and sensual touch. They aren't hard to find.
Each person can be different in their likes (hard, deep muscle versus a lighter, softer touch) but really what you usually need are a few basic concepts about strokes and skin on skin contact.
Focus more on simple ideas than trying to memorize a "schedule" for a massage, as in step 1, then 2, then 3... yes, its nice to have some structure, but you'll discover what feels good and what doesn't.
Also, what about getting a massage yourself? Go to a local spa and get a great massage, then think about what you liked about it.
