Are cops allowed to pursue motorcycles in the state of virginia?
Hello boos:
Sure.

Yes they can as it is a vehicle with an engine and an operator operating it.
I saw a cop stop a bicycle rider in Michigan.Quote:

Hello:
Why would you think they can't?

Do a search on this site for "police chase" and you will see my thread where lotsa interesting points of view are expressed on the subject of police pursuits. As a general rule, police are allowed to pursue any vehicle committing a crime or traffic violation within their pursuit policy, which may vary in the various jurisdictions in the state.
Each department may have its own rules, I know I got into trouble on my one great high speed chase, the car had just gotten away from the city of Atlanta PD, I came across it with smoke under the hood, they got up to at least 35 MPH and I chased them at least 6 city blocks. But we had a no chase policy, my arrest stood, and they were caught and the stolen property recovered but I got written up for breaking policy. Those dangerous 35 MPH chases
