I was recently reunited with a friend I have known for almost 17 years and he knows that I have liked him for a really long time now. He had broken up with his girlfriend a few months ago and he has began saying things that got me thinking that he would go out with me sometime in the future for example he's always asking when I will go see him and saying that I'm more beautiful then he remembers and asking if I had a boyfriend and what not, but when I asked about us going out he said he was too confused right now because of his ex, now I know he likes me back but how do I get him to see it?:confused:

Give him time!! I am just out of a 4 year relationship (1.5 months in). About two weeks ago a "friend" of mine told me that she had some pretty deep feelings for me. Now to me this girl is perfect, beautiful with an amazing personality. Really so much better than my ex. Funny thing is that I still don't feel it right now. I know I want to like this girl and really don't want her to get away, but its not there right now. I say the same things this guy is saying to you. I am confused and need some time to heal.

Don't push anything on him as it would make me want to get out of the situation. Just keep hanging out and go with the flow. If the feelings develop it will happen, nothing you can say can make him see it, when he is ready for it he either will or he won't and you will know.

You got to give him space... most guys don't like to be crowded or "made" to see things someone's way. Like Northern says, give him some time... if feelings develop, it will happen with time. Just don't crowd him or else it could backfire on you.

He is honestly telling you that he isn't ready for what you want, nor do you really want to be his rebound. Back off ,and pursue your own life, as its no telling when he will be ready.

He is still hurting over his ex he proberely still has feelings too let I'm get over them n in time when he is feeling better he will come to you just give him space n time
