    Replacing Sink Air Vent
I am planning to install a new kitchen sink. The present sink has an air vent installed in the "fourth" hole (Chrome plastic vent). I want to install a sprayer in that hole. The dish washer and disposal are connected under the sink into the vent valve by a y connector. If I used that hole for the sprayer, how do I handle the washer / disposal vents? I have search the forum and see many references to the air vent but not how to "replace" it or "move" it. Thanks

In fact, what you will find on this site is that most of us recommend REMOVING these AIR GAPS and just looping the drain from the dishwasher up as high as possible (clip to cabinet) and then draining into the disposal.

It is important that the dishwasher loop almost up to the underside of the counter so that water will not flow down and into the dishwasher when draining disposal.

Depending on the chrome vent, should just need to get a hose x hose adapter and a couple SS clamps and remove/discard old vent and hook pipe ends back together, then loop high as discussed, CLIP it to the base cabinet wall, then hook to disposal and you should be all set here.

Check out the pic. Below to see what I mean! Enjoy your new SPRAYER!!!

    Thanks MARK

I just looked at the vent, lines, and disposal along with the picture and now understand what needs to be done.
