    DWI on Doctors drugs
    Hi
I was pulled over by the cops. I have depression and a few other things.

The cop through I was drinking but I was not. He gave me a breath test 0.0

I told him I took some proscription drug that was given to me by my doctor.

He gave me DUI. What can I do!! Please help

Get a good attorney to help you fight this. Don't try to go this one alone.

Actually it would be driving while impaired here in GA. If you are on medication from the doctor, and remember it has warnings about care in taking while driving, If the medication effects your driving ability, you can be charged with some charge in many US states. Just because the drugs are legal, if you are impaired , you are impaired.
Now the problem if the officer is not trained in this, a good lawyer can get him out, But by saying he was taking medication, he basically confessed to part of it, now the officer has to prove the driving showed he was impaired

That's how it works in NYS - you get stopped and the problem is prescription drugs WHICH CARRY A WARNING, not alcohol, you still get arrested for driving impaired. I would definitely get a lawyer for this one, particularly in view of the admission to prescription drugs.
