I have recently had a problem with my compressor popping my main breaker as well as the Compressor breaker. I replaced both breakers including the main and yet I still am having a problem. I looked and also noticed that my contactors inside the compressor are slightly pitted will this cause enough of an amp draw to kick both breakers? I am at a loss and before I spend more $$$$$$ I would like to check to see what else it may be. Any help would be great.

Is the unit very old? Compressor could be getting tight due to high milage,might want to try a hardstart kit,will give it a extra kick at startup,, they are pretty inexpemsive
