    Security Deposit
My old landlord is one day past his 30 day period for returning the security deposit. Are there any legal actions I can take in Pennsylvania?

    Thanks!

Absolutely. You can file a lawsuit for the return of the deposit. However, in order to save yourself the time and energy of suing, I suggest you try contacting your former landlord first to see what's going on.

I believe PA has a doubling penalty for non compliance. Meaning that if the landlord fails to return thje deposit on time, they own double. I've moved your question to the Real Estate Law forum. At the top of this forum is a sticky with links to state laws.

I would check with the landlord first to see if they mailed it within the deadline. If they haven't, then cite the law and tell them you will expect a check for double the deposit (or whatever the law specifies) within a week or you will file suit.
