    Mental Health of former spouse
I am a father of two wonderful boys. Their mother recently moved to FL. She is emotionally unstable and despite numerous petitions to the court for custody, I have been turned down. She is emotionally labile and verbally and emotionally abusive. I was abused by her for three years before finally getting out. Now I am afraid the boys are taking the brunt of this. How do I proceed, she is in FL and I am in PA. I have the children for half the summer and she has called, threatened and harassed every day since their arrival. One of the boys is behind in school and I took him to see a child psychologist and furnished the psychologist with her phone numbers, she ranted and raved and refused to give consent for assessment or treatment. On the phone she is constantly badgering the boys and asking if they are ready to "come home". She suggested they were being abused to them over the phone to which they adamantly denied. Is there any legal recourse to have her assessed/examined. She will do irreparable harm to the children and I truly fear for their safety and well being. Please help!!

Consult with a lawyer. Laws differ from state to state. It is great that you are looking for the best interests of your children. If you can, document EVERYTHING. Every phone call, every email. In fact, try to get her to contact you via email. That way, you have everything automatically documented. Also, let her leave voicemails and keep these. Whenever anyone leaves a voicemail, they know that they are being recorded and this is admissible in court. But first and foremost, consult with an attorney.
