My dog swallowed a bottle cap!
    Hi!

I am looking for some help! This morning my dog (german shepherd) swalloved a bottle cap, or at least I think so. What can I do, or what are the symptoms, for which I should look before I take him to the vet!

    Im really worried, someone help!!
    Thanks!

Dig through his poo to see if it passes. Check it for the next couple of days. If he starts acting ill take him to the vet. He didn't get choked on it so that is a good thing.

    Thanks!

I just called the vet and they told me to look for blood in his poo and also if he is in pain... I don't know how long his digestive system takes, but I do know that he is like really sensitive to everything. Just worried about him!

    But thatks!!

Was the cap metal or plastic? Metal would definitely show up on an x-ray (plastic might or might not). While an x-ray would be more expensive, it might be worth it to you to save several days of worry. (I know your pain, I once thought my Shepherd had swallowed my wristwatch, until I found it under the family car--he had knocked it loose playing but hadn't eaten it!)

Metal bottle caps are quite dangerous. Keep in touch with your vet.
