Im in the process of getting my Ged and I have to figure out a proportion of a problem.I have to figure the proportion from one area to another area.I have no idea how to this.If someone could point me in the right direction.I would appreciate it.

It would help if you were a little more specific. Do you mean an area, like the area of a square or something like that? It kind of doesn't matter, because proportions are done the same way regardless of what the thing is, but it would be easier to do an example of what you're trying to do.
I can also see you meaning two different things. One, you mean one area as a proportion of another area. That is, you have a 130 sq ft room and you want to know what proportion that is of the whole house, which is 1625 sq ft. Just divide the first by the second: 130/1625 = .08. (If you need an answer as a fraction, just reduce the original fraction.)
Or, you could mean you are buying a bigger house and want the bedroom to be the same proportion it is in the current house. You're going to buy a 2200 sq ft house. You still start with the dividing of the bedroom by the whole house: 130/1625 = .08. That's the proportion in the first house. Then multiply that by the whole house for the second house: 2200 x .08 = 176. So a bedroom in the new house of the same proportion will be 176 sq ft.
So 130 bedroom in a 1625 house is the same proportion as a 176 room in a 2200 house.
You can also cross multiply:
This is how I originally learned proportions, but who knows what they're teaching now. Notice I'm being consistent in how I set this up. The numerator in both is the bedroom. The denominator in both is the whole house. One fraction is the first house, and the other fraction is the second house. Consistency is important here.
Then do 130 x 2200 = 1625 x?
286,000 = 1625 x ?
Then divide by the side with the ?:
286,000/1625 = 176
Same answer either way. (Yeah, I know, some big numbers.)
That's my two interpretations of what you might mean. If it's something else, please be more specific.
