Are there two fans in an air-conditioning system
    Hello,
We are having trouble with a very good forced air air-conditioning, heating, central system. The compressor works but the fan shuts off. The same with the heat. We had the fan replaced and it works sporadically. The repairman says there are two fans and they coincidentally failed at nearly the same time. He says there is an intake fan and a blower fan. Is this correct. We paid $550.00 for the first repair and replacement. He wants $300.00 for the second fan. I just want to make sure I'm not paying twice for the same thing.
    Thanks,
    Susan P

One is to blow air around in your home to heat or cool..

The second blower is used in the combustion process of the furnace. It forces or removes byproducts of combustion from the furnace to the outside. Years ago there was no combustion air blower and the vents went to a chimney.

I hope this answered your question.
