My roommate is bleeding from the rectum, recently, almost daily. He has already been through the normal emergency proceedures. The hosp sent him home. He was injured 1993 in bad accident. 1994 had appendectomy with peritonitis. Could the scar tissue now be bleeding from that area of the intestine where the appendix is located? Since this is an indigent case in Georgia the hospital refused to inspect the colon. Could the 1994 appendectomy in any way be linked to today's bleeding? He said he stayed over a month in recovery at the hospital when his appendix ruptured. Any help from anyone knowledgeable in this area of medicine is extremely appreciated.
