    Civil judgement
I live in Michigan and just received a civil judgement against me in the mail. What does this mean?

No one can obtain a Judgment against you without a civil proceeding.

Were you served with a Summons, Summons and Complaint, something similar?

If not, you have to file to set the Judgment aside and request a hearing on the facts at which time you present your evidence - it's not your debt, it's out of Statute, you didn't receive legal notice, whatever your defense might be.

Did you ignore a Summons and the creditor proceeded by default?
