    Wiring a ceiling fan
Just bought a hunter ceiling fan and the wiring is confusing. The fan has 1 white and 1 black and 1 black/white and a green on fan and green on mounting bracket. The juction box has 1 black 2 white wires and that's it. I know one of the white wires is the hot because it zapped me. Its wired funny when I took the old fan down the outlets in other bedroom went out as well as the ceiling fan in there.

I will not be addressing the wires in the fan since your manual should explain where they connect but lets talk about the wires in the ceiling box. Your hot supply to the ceiling is apparently on the same circuit as the outlets in this room and I suspect the wire color will not meant as much as it should because disconnection a fan should not have caused an open circuit at the outlets. You will need to get a tester and test each wire in the ceiling. From what you say this ceiling box must be controlled by a wall switch, turn it on and test each wire, the white should not be hot and is normally only a neutral unless someone craeted a loop and did not color the end of one of the white wires. Test everything and take notes, come back and tell us what you found, be careful since it appears that anything can be hot in this box.

The light/fan that was in there before, how was it wired?

I would assume you connect the black and stripe from the fan to black, white to both whites.
