    Dual Citizenship American & Greek
    Hi,

I am an American married to a Greek citizen who was naturalized an now has dual citizenship in the US and Greece.

My question is "Is it possible for me to obtain Greek citizenship (and passport) through my marriage to her, and if so, how do I go about it?"

Thanks in advance all you experts:)

    Contact your local Greek Consulate.

You cannot immediately establish Greek Citizenship just by marriage to your Greek Citizen wife, per the current Code of Greek Nationality. The law specifically states in Article 30: Marriage does not lead to the acquisition or to the loss of the Greek citizenship.

However, you do get special treatment if you wish to naturalize into Greek citizenship assuming that: a) you reside in Greece for at least 3 years, and b) you have had at least one child with your wife. Note that if you do decide to naturalize, you will have to prove that you have "a sufficient knowledge of the Greek language, the Greek history and generally of the Greek civilization".
