The tax payers pay taxes and the government allots money to different agencies, including the unemployment offices to pay to unemployed persons.
Can you provide me with a link?
The employer pays for unemployment insurance, which in turn, gets paid to you if you qualify. In most states you must be employed for a full 90 days, or 3 months, to qualify for unemployment.
This site should prove helpful.

I'm trying to find where it says that... That's exactly what I thought... I'm trying to prove to someone that I was right...Quote:

If he/she was downsized then yes. If fired, then no. Remember they have to be employed for a minimum of 90 days to qualify. Then, if they are fired they can qualify under certain circumstances, but this is usually a long process that requires numerous appeals.
If an employee quits, then benefits are not available.
To help you better, as you know, it's better to know the circumstances.
I know all of that, I just want to prove to someone that the employer ultimately pays for it... I just want to know where to find that one the site.
Then read this thoroughly, it's in there.

This is just one sentence and I have bolded what you are looking for
