Who pays for unemployment benefits in Oregon? Can you provide a link? I've been searching and searching to find the answer, and can't find anything so I thought the wonderful people at AMHD would know!

The tax payers pay taxes and the government allots money to different agencies, including the unemployment offices to pay to unemployed persons.

The employer pays for unemployment insurance, which in turn, gets paid to you if you qualify. In most states you must be employed for a full 90 days, or 3 months, to qualify for unemployment.

Hun, I own my own business, I know how this works. The employer pays unemployment taxes to the bureau either monthly or quarterly. When an employee leaves, it depends on why the employment has ended, the employee may or may not qualify for unemployment.

If he/she was downsized then yes. If fired, then no. Remember they have to be employed for a minimum of 90 days to qualify. Then, if they are fired they can qualify under certain circumstances, but this is usually a long process that requires numerous appeals.

If an employee quits, then benefits are not available.

To help you better, as you know, it's better to know the circumstances.

I know all of that, I just want to prove to someone that the employer ultimately pays for it... I just want to know where to find that one the site.
