    Can't read zip files
I have a Dell computer with Windows 98 SE. I bought an ebook and could not read the text, it is some kind of code. (a zip file) The supplier sent me a cd but I got the same results. I emailed the book to my son-in-law and it came through in English. When he emailed it back, it was the code again. I downloaded WinZip 11.1 but now it won't install, the error is "a device attached to the system is not functioning". What device? Any ideas?

    Thank You!

That error is somewhat of a catchall error and can also be translated as "a necessary file or DLL cannot be found in the path". Verify floppy and optical drives work properly, scan hard disk for errors, and confirm no devices in device manager have yellow exclamation marks.

See if you can install 7-Zip and decompress the zipped ebook file.
