Answer : probably the next close associate of Sen. Obama who is to get thrown under the bus.
When Obama was the paid director of the Woods Fund;along with his good buddy and former Weathermen terrorist William Ayers, he granted $40,000 to a pro-Palestinian group called 'Arab American Action Network'. AAAN mourns the establishment of Israel as a "catastrophe".The co-founder of the group is Columbia University professor Rashid Khalidi.
The group purports that it's mission is to empower Arab immigrants in the US and Arab-Americans . But it has taken a decidedly anti-Israel tone. But back to Khalidi...
Khalidi was a director of the official PLO press agency WAFA in Beirut from 1976 to 1982.Khalidi's wife, AAAN President Mona Khalidi, was WAFA's English translator .Khalidi also advised the Palestinian delegation to the Madrid Conference in 1991.He has openly supported suicide/homicide terrorism as a remedy to "Israeli aggression." His opening dedication to his book 'Under Seige' goes out to those killed in 1982 "in defense of the cause of Palestine."
The evidence of a deeper relationship with Obama is strong . Both Obama and Khalidi were associates at the University of Chicago in early 2000s. Khalidi lectured there and Obama taught law. Khalidi held a fundraiser for Obama's failed bid for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000. Khalidi and Obama lived in nearby faculty residents and that the two families dined together a number of times. When Khalidi left the University of Chicago in 2003, Obama delivered a testimonial at a farewell ceremony reminiscing about conversations over meals prepared by Mona Khalidi.
In an article at Atlantic Magazine . Obama used the term "constant sore " when describing Israel's relationship with the US .
Jeffrey Goldberg (May 12, 2008) - Obama on Zionism and Hamas
This is a quote he evidently lifted directly from a recent article by Khalidi.
Palestine: Liberation Deferred
In the article Khalidi accused Israel of conducting "ethnic cleansing " .
Obama was asked in a forum with Jewish voters in Florida about his relationship with Khalidi. Obama responded that he knew Khalidi because they both taught at the University of Chicago and Khalidi's kids attended the same private “lab” school as Obama's daughters. Obama stressed that Khalidi is “not one of my foreign policy advisers.” This type of denial has become Obama's first defense about any troubling relationship he has.
But an LA Times article in April exposed that to be a falsehood.
Allies of Palestinians see a friend in Barack Obama - Los Angeles Times
Quote:
His many talks with the Khalidis, Obama said, had been "consistent reminders to me of my own blind spots and my own biases. . . . It's for that reason that I'm hoping that, for many years to come, we continue that conversation -- a conversation that is necessary not just around Mona and Rashid's dinner table," but around "this entire world."
When he spoke at AIPAC last week Obama told his audience that they have nothing to fear from an Obama Presidency . He even went on to say that an undivided Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is non-negotiable.
"Let me be clear....Israel's security is sacrosanct. It is non-negotiable. The Palestinians need a state that is contiguous and cohesive and that allows them to prosper. But any agreement with the Palestinian people must preserve Israel's identity as a Jewish state, with secure, recognized and defensible borders. Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided" .

This statement infuriated Palestinians and caused the terrorist organization Hamas to drop their support of him.
Political Punch
Within 48 hours ,Obama flip-flopped and changed his tune about Jerusalem.
"Well, obviously, it's going to be up to the parties to negotiate a range of these issues. And Jerusalem will be part of those negotiations".

Why does Barack Obama downplay his association with a man whom he enjoyed pleasant nights around the dinner table with, when he is in front of a Jewish crowd ? How can we accurately gage what an American Middle East policy will be when he caters to the crowd he is speaking to ?
