    Removing tub spout
I have read all the posts I could find on changing tub spouts but I can't even get mine off. We have been having trouble with it for quite some time and today the shower diverter actually came out and the little white plastic piece fell out too. I can see how it works but I can not get it back in. I thought I would just replace it since it is old. The pin looks bent. I have tried pulling and unscrewing the spout. I can not budge it. Any ideas?

There are two types of diverter spouts. Slip on and threaded,(see images) Feel underneath the spout next to the wall. If it has a small opening under there you have a slip on spout. To remove a slip on spout twist it so the bottom side's up, loosen the Allen Head Set Screw and pull it loose. If there is no little square hole the put a wrench on the spout and turn it out counterclockwise. Good luck, Tom
