    Can they be mine?
I am going to marry the love of my life and she has two girls with another man. The girls are now 1 and 3 and daddy has very little to do with them. He sees them for a few hours a week and provides very little financial support. I would like the freedom to be able to take the girls where ever life takes me, within and possibly out of canada. From what I understand I need to convince daddy to give up parential rights to have the freedom to move the girls as required. I would require no child support and would not stop him from visiting the girls if he so desired. What is the best way to proceed? Should I be looking into adoption? Note: they were never married, living common law for under 4 years.

Does not matter if they ever lived together that is not an issue.

Next how much is the court ordered child support, and if more than what he is paying, why is she not collecting the full amount ( if she is not)

This is often how to help convince men who do't want to pay, to sign over their rights for adoption, start pushing the collection of child support very hard.

But if he is not willing to sign over his rights, and he is paying the court ordered child support amount, and he is visiting the child, there is no way to force him to.
